Czech School Without Borders at the Czech Armed Forces Day

July 13th, 2025

The Czech School Without Borders London was invited to Czech Armed Forces Day. It was an ideal opportunity to thank Brigadier General Beran for his excellent support and kind cooperation in our educational project Stories of Czechoslovak Pilots in World War II. And an excellent connection with Ambassador Chatardová’s project Children of Heroes.

Presentation of the project at the Czech Embassy in London

November 13th, 2023

Lucie Wenigerová proudly represented the Czech School Without Borders, London at the unveiling of the Czechoslovak Memorial – a newly established national monument honouring the Czechoslovak men and women who fought alongside Britain and the Western Allies during World War II.

Situated at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire, the memorial stands as a long-overdue tribute not only to the extraordinary bravery of our wartime veterans, but also to the enduring struggle for freedom and democracy that followed – a journey that culminated in the Velvet Revolution of 1989.

This important commemorative project, titled Operation Our Thanks, was initiated by the Memorial Association for Free Czechoslovak Veterans (MAFCSV) as part of the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII, to be marked in 2025. If you have the opportunity, we warmly encourage you to visit and honour their legacy.

Presentation of the project at the Czech Embassy in London

November 13th, 2023

During the Veterans Day commemoration, we had the great honour of presenting our project at the Czech Embassy in London. The event was organized by the defence attaché, Brigadier General Vratislav Beran, and Ambassador Marie Chatardová. Our project presentation was directed not only at invited guests, but also to the wider veteran and veteran-associated community, emphasizing the significance of the memory and legacy of Czechoslovak airmen in the Second World War. It was an opportunity for us not only to share our achievements thus far, but also to strengthen ties and garner more support within the community.

Presentation of the project at the Czech school without borders, London

March 25th, 2023

We were delighted to present our projects to Year 7 and 10 students at the Czech School Without Borders in London on March 25th, 2023. The goal of this event was to give children the opportunity to learn interactively about the history of Czechoslovak pilots. In addition to the presentations, we also prepared interactive workshops for them, helping them better understand the creative process behind our projects. This event was thus not only educational, but personally involved the students, allowing them to experience our shared historical legacy. Their enthusiasm inspired us, showing us our project’s importance for future generations.
